The Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens presents “Russell Lee Photographs,” an exhibition organized by the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, The University of Texas at Austin, and presented in partnership with Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Lee produced fascinating images, focusing on the Texas landscape, politics, travel, industry and the human condition.
The exhibit showcases the wide span of Lee’s career. This includes his early assignments during the 1930s under the Farm Security Administration chronicling the hardships of the Great Depression, his studies of the people of Texas, and his travels across the world.
The opening reception will be June 13th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Centennial Museum. Free parking is available behind the museum.
