A Latinx: New Works Festival

 

ReUnion rEvolucion: A Latinx New Works Festival is a new play festival celebrating local and national Latinx voices and stories. The festival—funded through a grant from Humanities TX—is a partnership between UTEP Department of Theatre and Dance and the Chamizal National Memorial.

 

The festival will feature a multitude of FREE events for the public, including:

 

An Opening Reception featuring live music by Carla Riojas

 

A keynote speech by NYC based playwright and UTEP visiting professor, Georgina Escobar

 

A fully-staged world premiere play from the Latinx Theatre Project from Fayetteville, AK

*family friendly

 

2 staged readings of plays solicited exclusively from nationally recognized playwrights for the festival.

*1 family friendly

 

1 staged reading of a play by local contest winner

 

Workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities, keynote speeches, receptions and more!

 

Festival dates:

March 27th events begin at 6p.m.

March 28th events begin at noon

March 29th events begin at noon

All events will be held at the Chamizal National Memorial.
