Like so many things on the border, baseball in El Paso has its own flavor. Where else do you have mariachi music and a dancing Chihuahua during the 7th inning stretch? Although El Pasoans have embraced America's favorite pastime, Fronteriza culture has left its mark not only on the sport itself but on our American identity.
With colorful characters such as "Give a Dam" Jones, the Cohen Brothers, and Paul Strelzin, in addition to well-loved teams such as the Sun Kings, Diablos and Chihuahuas, baseball has a long and rich history in the borderland. This exhibit celebrates our relationship with this most American of pastimes.
